Dipsy Diver Depth Chart – How Deep Does It Really Go?
Dipsy Divers are powerful tools for reaching deeper water without downriggers—but depth depends heavily on your setup.
How it works
- Uses adjustable angle settings (0–3)
- Pulls the lure down and away from the boat
Setting 0 (straight back)
- 30 m line → ~6–8 m deep
- 60 m line → ~10–14 m deep
Setting 2–3 (side)
- Runs 20–30% shallower than setting 0
- Creates a wider, better spread
Key factors
- Line length – more line = deeper
- Speed – faster = higher in the water
- Line type – braid runs deeper than mono
Pro tips
- Use setting 0 for maximum depth
- Use setting 2–3 to spread rods wider
- Combine with flashers when targeting salmon
